Social media has increased in popularity over the years, and in today’s society, its usage continues to grow at a fast rate. Sites like Facebook have grown tremendously due to constant updates that have been made to the company. Other businesses look to use Facebook to make connections through features such as boosting.
Facebook has been around for several years now, and a recent feature known as boosting has emerged and has become popular with businesses that are trying to get people to notice their company. Posts that are boosted move higher up in News Feed on Facebook and increase viewers’ chances of seeing them.
Almost any post that has been written after June 21, 2012 can be boosted, such as status updates, photos, videos and offers. Posts can be boosted by going to the post created and clicking Boost Post located in the lower-right corner. The audience and budget can be adjusted depending on how long you want your post to be visible and who you want to see it.
Facebook boosting has its downsides, but definitely comes with some positive attributes as well. If used too frequently, boosting can sometimes generate negative feedback and get around to the wrong audience; however, if used purposefully, boosting is a great way to get the word out to users about your business and events that are currently going on.
Clients can use the boosting button feature on Facebook to get people to notice specific features and information about the business that they find useful and/or interesting. By concentrating on the positive attributes of the company, boosting can increase the overall quality of the business and allow it to increase in demand for the future.
